After graduating from the Ecole Camondo in 2011 and a designer’s residency at La Fabrica – research & communication center of the Benetton Group – in Italy, Charlotte Juillard founded her own studio in 2014. Successively object designer and stage designer, the interior architect-object designer was selected on the Maison&Objet Fair and has since then designed furniture for design brand Cinna.
Materiality is still and always her starting point when designing. She always looks for the perfect match between texture and form, a kind of softness and some self-evidence in the style of the object. Working on material, researching, experimenting and observing are the essential steps of any project she undertakes. Being able to imagine objects along with craftsmen, leaning to adapt and review her first drafts according to tools, methods and constraints, having to collaborate and manage teamwork… all converge to provide her with a certain wealth in her practice.
